Anthology Proof Review Dog Years

Congratulations! You Are About to Be a Published Author

Now is your opportunity to review your edited essay before the book goes to press. A reminder about editing:

  • It is unlikely your essay appears in the book exactly as you wrote it.
  • Every essay selected to be published goes through four stages of editing—developmental editing, line editing, copy editing and proofreading (three rounds); some essays may be more heavily edited than others. (Read more about Publish Her’s editing process.)
  • If you are not comfortable with the edits to your essay, you may withdraw your submission.

Next Steps

Below are low resolution galleys/page proofs in page spreads. These pages will go through a final round of proofreading before the book is published. Publish Her uses a modified Associated Press Stylebook for editing. (Read more about Associated Press Stylebook and Publish Her’s style guide.)

  • Galleys/page proofs are for authors only and not to be shared publicly.
  • For best results, we recommend reviewing the galleys/page proofs on a computer; use the arrows on each side or the slider below to flip through the pages.
  • Go to the table of contents near the front of the book to review your essay title and author name. Essays are listed alphabetically by title. Please note that your title may have been changed to align more closely with the theme of your essay. Due to spacing issues, longer titles have been truncated. Confirm that your essay title and author name are spelled correctly.
  • Next, go to your essay pages and review the page proofs carefully. Confirm that your essay title and author name are spelled correctly and the details of your essay are accurate.
  • Lastly, go to list of editors and contributors near the back of the book. Please note that your author bio has been edited for clarity and length. Confirm that your author name is spelled correctly and the details of your author bio are accurate.
  • Please use the Author Proof Review form below to confirm the details and submit corrections; this form must be submitted by 12 p.m. CST on Friday, July 11, 2025.
